Istanbul has a lot to offer: from beautiful architecture where east meets west, to lots of foodspots, but also many universities which offer a huge range of opportunities. From many of those universities I chose the Haliç University. Lots of different faculties that you can explore and a huge campus. One of many highlights here was the orientation week that was organized by the Haliç Erasmus Club. Here you had the opportunity to connect with lots of other people from many parts of the world and get to know eachother. The Haliç Erasmus Club was always up for new ideas and organized lots of get togethers during this semester. Whenever you had any problems, the Erasmus Office had an open ear for you and helped you as it was possible. The life at the campus is totally different compared to my university in Germany. Here you get to have the full university feeling and experience and here is always something going on. The life in Istanbul can be tough when you are not a native speaker, but at the same time it is challenging and brings you further in life. All in all I can say that I´m very grateful for this experience. I got to know new people and the time brought us closer together – new friendships formed, I got to know myself better during this time and got a chance to grow.
