Erasmus+ Grants
Students may be awarded an Erasmus grant to help cover their living expenses during their mobility period. Grant payment is subject to the amount of applications received, potential destination of the applicants and availability of funds from the Turkish National Agency. Please note that Erasmus grants are only contribution, could be not be sufficient for all the expenses of the Erasmus Program.
The amount of monthly grants is announced By Turkish National Agency and are divided in three groups as below:

*Green travel is the realization of travel by using low carbon emission public transportation vehicles. Includes bus, train, shared car use within the scope of green travel. In order to receive green travel support, green travel must be used for departure and return and more than half of the entire trip must been done using green vehicles.
The total amount is calculated in base of the months and days of exchange done. The grant is paid in two mainly instalments:
- The first instalment which cover the 80% of the total amount is paid before the arrival in the hosting University.
- The second instalment, which is the 20% remaining is paid after the student returns and after the delivery of all the document required and on the condition that the applicant must take 30 ECTS lessons and 2/3 of these courses must be completed successfully.
Zero Grant Participation
The first contact between the selected student and the host university is made by Haliç Erasmus Office after the selection process and an e-mail regarding selected student’s contact information is sent to the responsible person at the host university.
After the nomination e-mail sent by Erasmus Office at Haliç , the host university sends the student an e-mail with necessary instructions about the application process to the host university.
Students who are chosen for zero grant, participate in Erasmus+ Study Program without receiving the financial grant. Participants must follow the same application and selection procedures, and submit the required documents (before, during, and after mobility) to our office.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All students, whether they have a grant or not, are required to come to our office and sign the grant agreement after selection.
ADDITIONAL GRANT AND INCLUSION SUPPORT
Additional Grant Support
Participants with limited financial means will be eligible to receive Additional Grant Support on top of their entitled grant. For the grant to be provided, a participant with limited means is defined as an individual who is economically and socially disadvantaged and falls under one of the following subcategories. In addition to their total grant these students will be getting €250 monthly. These requirements only valid for Turkish citizens:
- Individuals covered under Law No. 2828 (students for whom the Ministry of Family and Social Services has issued a protection, care, or shelter decision under Law No. 2828).
- Students for whom a protection, care, or shelter decision has been made under Law No. 5395 on Child Protection.
- Orphans / students receiving a death pension.
- Spouses and children of martyrs or veterans, as well as the veterans themselves.
- Students who can provide documented proof that they, their family, or legal guardian receives support from a public institution at the time of application (e.g., municipalities, ministries, Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations, General Directorate of Foundations, Red Crescent, AFAD).
- Students with disabilities.
- Students whose parent or legal guardian is a disabled or needy Turkish citizen receiving monthly allowance under Law No. 2022 of 01.07.1976 for Turkish citizens over 65 years of age who are needy, powerless, or without relatives, or for disabled and needy Turkish citizens.
- Students who themselves or whose first-degree relatives have received disaster relief from AFAD.
Scholarships or financial aids from the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK), other success-based grants or one-time financial aids are not included under this Additional Grant Support.
Students who fall under the categories above must contact our office and provide supporting documentation if they wish to apply for this additional support.
Inclusion Support
Beneficiaries with physical, mental, or health-related special needs who would not be able to participate in the activities without additional support should contact our coordination office regarding the Additional Grant Support.
