Merhaba, ben Ece Rana Güzel. 2024 bahar döneminde Haliç Üniversitesi İç Mimarlık Bölümü’nden mezun oldum. 2024 yaz döneminde Erasmus+ staj hareketliliği kapsamında İspanya’nın Las Palmas, Gran Canaria Adası’nda bir mimarlık ofisinde stajımı gerçekleştirdim. Bu süreç bana pek çok tecrübe ve dostluk kazandırdı.Erasmus sürecime başlamadan önce, İspanya’nın mimari kültürüne duyduğum ilgi nedeniyle bu ülkede deneyim kazanmak istediğime karar verdim. Üretimlerini kendi pratiklerime yakın bulduğum ofisimle iletişime geçtim. Başka bir dilde çalışmak ve yaşamak benim için ilk kez deneyimlediğim bir durumdu. Bu yüzden başlangıçta zorlansam da, süreci kolaylaştıran insanlarla tanışma fırsatım oldu.Ofisim küçük bir ekipten oluşuyordu ve çalışma ortamındaki pozitif iletişim sayesinde her gün aynı heyecanla stajıma devam ettim. Ofisin üretim kimliğinin bir parçası olarak kullandığı maskeler ile pek çok ilginç üretimler gerçekleştirdim. Benim gibi Erasmus staj hareketliliği kapsamında ofiste bulunan iki çalışma arkadaşım daha vardı, pek çok kültürel paylaşım yapma şansımız oldu. Çizim günlüğü tuttum ve aynı dönemde Erasmus stajı yapan bölüm arkadaşım ile birlikte, bu deneyimlerimizi dijital bir blog aracılığıyla okul arkadaşlarımıza aktarmaya çalıştık.Stajın dışında farklı ülkelerden birçok insanla tanıştım. Sörf, paddle yoga gibi yeni sporlar keşfetme şansı buldum ve adanın birçok bölgesini gezdim. İspanya’nın yemek kültürü, tarihi ve kültürel alışkanlıkları hakkında birçok yeni şey öğrendim. Bu süreçte birçok farklı dil duydum ve öğrenmek için çaba gösterdim. Özellikle İngilizce pratiğim sayesinde bu dildeki konuşma becerilerimi geliştirdim. Arkadaşlarım da bu konuda olumlu geri dönüşler verdi. İkinci dil olarak İspanyolcamı da ilerlettim; yerel halkla sıklıkla İspanyolca konuşmaya çalıştım ve dinleme-anlama becerilerimde büyük gelişme sağladım.Bu sürecin mesleki gelişimime, dil becerilerime ve kültürel bilgime büyük katkıları olduğunu belirtmek isterim. Erasmus+ projesine katılmayı düşünen herkese kesinlikle öneriyorum ve bu süreçle ilgili tecrübelerimi paylaşmaya her zaman devam edeceğim.
Hello, I’m Ece Rana Güzel. I graduated from the Department of Interior Architecture at Haliç University in the Spring semester of 2024. During the summer of 2024, I completed my internship at an architecture office in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria Island, Spain, as part of the Erasmus+ internship mobility program. This experience provided me with many skills and friendships.Before starting my Erasmus journey, I decided to gain experience in Spain because of my interest in the country’s architectural culture. I reached out to an office whose work I found closely aligned with my own practices. Working and living in another language was something I had never experienced before, so although it was challenging at first, I had the chance to meet people who made the process easier.The office I worked at had a small team, and thanks to the positive communication within the work environment, I continued my internship with the same excitement every day. I created many interesting designs using masks, which were a part of the office’s production identity. There were two other interns from the Erasmus program at the office, and we had many opportunities for cultural exchange. I kept a drawing journal, and together with a classmate who was also doing an Erasmus internship at the same time, we tried to share our experiences with our classmates through a digital blog.Outside of my internship, I met people from many different countries, had the chance to try new sports like surfing and paddle yoga, and explored many parts of the island. I learned a lot about Spain’s food culture, history, and cultural habits. During this process, I heard many different languages and made an effort to learn. Thanks to my practice of English, I was able to improve my speaking skills in that language, and my friends gave me positive feedback on this. I also improved my Spanish as a second language; I tried to speak Spanish with the local people frequently and made great progress in my listening and comprehension skills.I would like to emphasize that this experience greatly contributed to my professional development, language skills, and cultural knowledge. I highly recommend the Erasmus+ program to anyone considering it, and I will continue sharing my experiences related to this journey.
