Application Process

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Full-time undergraduate students of Haliç University may be eligible to participate in the Erasmus study mobility program. Students must follow the application dates for the semester in which they wish to take part. The eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Being a full time and active student on the system.
  • Vocational School students and Bachelor’s Students must have a minimum grade of
  • 2.20/4.00 cumulative GPA,Master’s and PhD students a minimum grade of 2.50/4.00 cumulative GPA.
  • For the period during which the students who will participate in the mobility, it is required to have a course load of 30 ECTS.
  • If student had participated in Erasmus+ Mobility before, it should not acceed 12 months of total mobility with the new application.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

The English Proficiency Exam will be conducted by the School of Foreign Languages following the closing date of the application, and the exam details will be announced on the website https://exchange.halic.edu.tr/.

Previous Haliç University Erasmus English Proficiency Exam

Students can use the Erasmus+ English Proficiency Exam results conducted by Haliç
University, which they have previously attended. The validity period of which is 2 years (based on the end date of applications). You must request your previous Erasmus+ English Proficiency Exam result from the School of Foreign Languages signed or with barcode and upload it to the application portal . Students who do not upload the English Proficiency Exam result to the application portal are required to participate in the exam to be held. English Proficiency Certificates issued for students who have completed the preparatory class of Haliç University are not valid in Erasmus+ applications.

Equivalent Exams

Equivalent exams that student took from examination centres outside the university are converted to the corresponding language grade by School of Foreign Languages Equivalent exams: KPDS, YDS, ÜDS, YDS, e-YDS, TOEFL IBT, YÖKDİL, e-YÖKDİL, CPE, CAE, PTE Akademik.

For this procedure, the equivalent exam with a validity period of 2 years (based on the end date of applications) must be uploaded to the Foreign Language Exam field in the application system.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT LANGUAGE PROFICENCY

  • Upcoming English Proficiency Exam is mandatory for the students who do not upload their required results of equivalent exams (as mentioned above) or the previously participated Erasmus + English Proficiency exam result conducted by Haliç University. Applicants cannot both upload a language certificate and take the upcoming Erasmus+ English Proficiency Exam.
  • English Proficiency Certificates issued for students who have completed the preparatory class of Haliç University are not valid in Erasmus+ applications.
  • To be eligible for Erasmus, students must have a **minimum score of 60/100** on the university language exam.
  • Do not forget that some partner universities may require an additional language certificate. In such cases, you must provide the specific language certificate requested by the host university.

HOW TO APPLY

Erasmus+ KA131 Student Mobility applications are completed on; https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr/ The system is logged in via e-government, students who do not have e-government registration are required to create a registration.

Students should upload a recent transcript to the TurnaPortal system. The transcript must not be older than the application dates; otherwise, it cannot be accepted.

Calculation of the students total Erasmus grade takes place through:

  • Academic Performance (GPA) 50%
  • Language Proficiency 50%
  • Students with disabilities +10 points
  • Children of martyrs and veterans +15 points
  • Disable students +10 points
  • Students under protection as asserted by the Law no. 2828 of Social Services +10 points
  • Previous participation in the Erasmus Program (KA131) within current study level -10 points (For each mobility)
  • Themselves or 1. degree relatives those who receive disaster relief from AFAD
  • Participation in Erasmus Program in the country of nationality -10 points
  • Applying for both types of mobility (Study and Internship) at the same time (reduction is applied to the type of mobility preferred by the student) -10 points
  • Being selected and not participating to mobility without notification of waiver (it is applied if the student applies to Erasmus+ Mobility again) -10 points


Students are ranked in their faculties according to their total Erasmus grade, as grant list and replacements. Replacement students can be added into the primary list only if one of the primary students decides to cancel his or her application. The results are determined by an official Exchange and Placement Commission.
