Çünkü şu anın koşulları her an değişebilir ve gelecek hepimiz için kestirmesi zor olasılıklarla dolu. Fırsatını bulur bulmaz Erasmus’a başvurma her fırsatın bir an önce değerlendirilmesi gerektiğine olan inancımdan kaynaklandı diyebilirim.Türkiye’den İtalya’ya yaptığım bu yolculuk, sadece dil öğrenmek değil, aynı zamanda Türkçe ve Türk kültürünün ne kadar hibrit bir yapıya sahip olduğunu keşfetmemi sağladı. Her milletten insanın dilinde Türkçeyle ortak kelimeler bulmak beni hem çok şaşırttı hem de sevindirdi.Bu ortaklıkların tarihi mirasımıza dayandığını keşfettim. Osmanlı mirası sayesinde balkanlı milletlerle, Meşrutiyet ve cumhuriyet devrimleriyle Avrupalı milletlerle, Edebi mirasımız sayesinde ise orta doğulu milletlerle pek çok ortak noktamız olduğunu yaşayarak fark ettim. Bunu dışında Erasmus deneyimimde birçok ilki yaşadım.Verona’da diğer Erasmus öğrencileriyle oluşturduğumuz mikro topluluk, benim için unutulmaz anılarla dolu bir dostluk ve dayanışma atmosferi yarattı. Verona’nın küçük bir şehir olması, birbirimize daha da yakın olmamıza olanak tanıdı.Böyle bir deneyimi bir daha yaşama fırsatını bir an önce bulmayı umuyorum.
Elyesa Özçelik, a student in the English Translation and Interpreting Department, shares his experiences:I’m someone who believes that the best time to do something is always now, because the conditions of the present can change at any moment, and the future is full of unpredictable possibilities. I can say that my belief in seizing every opportunity led me to apply for Erasmus as soon as I had the chance.This journey from Turkey to Italy was not only about learning a language but also about discovering how hybrid Turkish and Turkish culture are. I was both surprised and delighted to find common words between Turkish and the languages of people from every nation.I discovered that these commonalities are rooted in our historical heritage. Thanks to the Ottoman legacy, I realized that we have many points of connection with Balkan nations; with European nations due to the constitutional and republican revolutions; and with Middle Eastern nations through our literary heritage. Apart from this, I experienced many firsts during my Erasmus experience.The micro-community we created with other Erasmus students in Verona formed a friendship and solidarity atmosphere full of unforgettable memories. The small size of Verona allowed us to become even closer to each other.I hope to have the opportunity to experience such a journey again as soon as possible.
